What you should know about attending the President Obama campaign event

On Sunday, Sept. 2, President Obama will make a campaign stop at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Norlin Quadrangle. The Obama for America campaign has reserved the quad through the invitation of Students for Obama. The event is not sponsored by the University of Colorado Boulder administration or the University of Colorado Board of Regents, and should not be viewed as an endorsement of President Obama’s candidacy. CU-Boulder’s Student Involvement Week kicks off Sept. 4

Beginning Sept. 4, CU-Boulder will hold its annual Student Involvement Week, which includes a variety of events and fairs offering students information about different clubs and organizations on campus and in the greater Boulder community.

Construction update: campus utility system

The first phase of construction on a campus utility system is beginning this week. Once complete in 2014, the system will provide efficient heating, cooling and power capacity, while significantly reducing the university’s carbon emissions. CU presents concert cards

All CU Boulder students have a unique opportunity to buy tickets for CU Presents events at up to 50 percent off by purchasing Concert Cards. If you have already purchased a Concert Card when you registered for classes this fall, please come to the Box Office and pick them up and use them towards one of our amazing upcoming concerts!

CSTPR 10th anniversary celebration

Please join the CIRES Center for Science and Technology Policy Research as we celebrate our 10th anniversary on Thursday, Sept. 27. This all-day event will include 4 panel discussions and will feature a keynote address by Dr. John Holdren, science advisor to President Barack Obama. All events will take place in the Old Main Auditorium on the CU-Boulder campus and are free and open to the public.

CU GOLD Core Leadership Program taking applications for fall 2012 now!

CLP is a free semester-long program consisting of a leadership retreat, weekly seminars on relevant leadership topics featuring facilitators from all over the community, and a group service project. Applications are due on Friday, Sept. 14 by 4 p.m.

Campus Town Hall on concealed carry

As many of you are aware, the CU-Boulder campus is now covered by the Concealed Carry Act (CCA). While we have attempted to provide guidance on how the campus will comply with the CCA, there continue to be questions from faculty and staff alike on this important issue. Please join us in the UMC Aspen Rooms on Tuesday, Sept, 4, from 12 - 1 p.m. for a campus town hall. Members of the CU-Boulder administration, including Chancellor DiStefano, Provost Moore, Managing Senior Associate Counsel John Sleeman, and Commander Robert Axmacher from the CU Police Department will be present.
