Following the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling in March that the CU Board of Regents lacks the authority to regulate concealed weapons on campus under the Colorado Concealed Carry Act, and with added news coverage of related issues this week, we have prepared this Question & Answer page to provide further clarification on how the law works on the campus.

Temporary closure on Regent Drive on Friday, Aug. 24

Regent Drive will close from 11:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24 to accommodate the convocation procession. The road will close north of Kittredge Loop on the southwest end, and south of Engineering Drive on the north end. Access to all parking lots – except the Business lot (parking lot 430) – will be maintained. During this temporary closure, RTD route 209 and the Buff Bus will be temporarily diverted onto Colorado and 18th.

President's Teaching Scholars Program 2013 call for nominations

President Bruce Benson solicits nominations of University of Colorado faculty for designation for the 2013 President's Teaching Scholars Program (PTSP). Lifetime appointment as a CU President's Teaching Scholar constitutes the university's highest recognition of excellence in and active commitment to learning, scholarly teaching and research.

Switch replacement next step in network improvements

Starting in September, OIT will be kicking off a project to update network switches in buildings throughout campus. The effort will improve network infrastructure so that it can support faster network speeds both on the wired and wireless networks.
