CU-Boulder alumna gives $2 million to launch an endowed chair in theater

In a day and age when the arts are often overlooked by those seeking more “career-oriented” pursuits, Green—who is on numerous boards including the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council and the honorary board of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival—stands up for the importance of theater. “Theater helps in all walks of life,” Green says. “It gives you an opportunity to speak in front of people. Steve Thweatt returns to CU-Boulder as executive director of Facilities Management

Steve Thweatt, associate vice president of planning, design and construction at Emory University, has been named executive director of Facilities Management effective as of August 1.

CU research helped propel amputee-sprinter Oscar Pistorius to Olympics

University of Colorado Boulder researchers will be watching closely when South African bilateral leg amputee and sprinter Oscar Pistorius, dubbed “The Blade Runner,” makes his way to the starting block for the 400-meter sprint in the 2012 London Olympics.

Systemwide search begins for new Vice Chancellor for Administration

Senior Vice Chancellor Kelly Fox today announced the launch of an internal search for the post of vice chancellor for administration. Search committee chair Steve McNally, senior associate vice chancellor for budget and finance, said the search “will focus on current University of Colorado employees throughout the system, allowing us to build upon our internal talent."

Northbound Broadway RTD bus stop at Euclid Avenue opens July 12

The northbound Broadway RTD bus stop at Euclid Avenue will re-open on Thursday, July 12. The current northbound stop at College Avenue will no longer be served.

Parking & Transportation Services Director candidates public forums

Parking & Transportation Services will host public forums for two candidates for the PTS Director position. This is a chance for the university community to come and ask questions and get to know each candidate. The forums will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 in the large second floor conference room of the Environmental Health & Safety Center (EH&S).
