Statement on CU Special Assistant Salary

February 25, 2004 - The University of Colorado System (CU) President Elizabeth Hoffman and CU-Boulder Chancellor Richard Byyny announced today the appointment of John DiBiaggio as special assistant to the president and chancellor, pending approval by the CU Board of Regents on March 4, 2004. The appointment will be effective March 5, 2004.

The term of the appointment will be determined on a month-to-month basis, up to a maximum appointment term of four months, to end no later than June 30, 2004. The salary for this position is $21,000 per month plus a $1000 monthly housing allowance. The salary is a prorated amount based on DiBiaggio's previous salary when he was president of Tufts University.

DiBiaggio will be paid from non-state general fund dollars from the chancellor's office. The final expenses for DiBiaggio's compensation will be apportioned back to the Department of Athletics at the conclusion of DiBiaggio's appointment.
