University of Colorado Boulder Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano will address faculty, staff, students and other members of the campus community at the annual State of the Campus address at CU-Boulder’s Glenn Miller Ballroom on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 a.m. and the speech begins promptly at 8 a.m.
The address will be DiStefano’s fourth as chancellor. He is entering his 39th year as a CU-Boulder faculty member, dean and senior administrator.
“I will focus on how CU-Boulder is implementing its Flagship 2030 Strategic Plan in light of the new realities of reduced funding and shrinking resources, and will detail how we can meet the dual challenges of improving our student experience and elevating the university’s reputation,” DiStefano said.
DiStefano said he will review the campus’s accomplishments over the past year and during the last five years of the plan.
“The focus, though, is on the future,” he said. “I want to talk about how we can make progress across every front -- elevating academic rigor, breaking down traditional barriers to achieve greater cooperation and developing new funding models to achieve our goals.”
Members of the media are invited to cover the speech, and CU faculty, staff and students are invited to attend. Doors open at 7 a.m., refreshments are served at 7:30 a.m. and DiStefano’s speech will begin promptly at 8 a.m. To watch the live stream during the speech or read the text after the speech, go to http://chancellor.colorado.edu.
