Ted Turner, chairman of Turner Enterprises, will speak at the University of Colorado at Boulder Law School on Friday, Nov. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. as part of the Silicon Flatirons Center's "Entrepreneurs Unplugged" series.
Turner will speak in the Wittemyer Courtroom of the Wolf Law Building. The event is free and open to the public but advance registration is required and space is limited. Registration is available through the Silicon Flatirons Center's Web site at www.silicon-flatirons.org/events.php?id=760.
Turner is well known as a cable industry pioneer who built Turner Broadcasting Systems into one of the world's leading media companies. Turner also is a high-profile philanthropist who pledged $1 billion to the United Nations in 1997. Through the Turner Foundation, he is active in supporting efforts to improve air and water quality, develop sustainable energy and protect wildlife habitat.
Brad Bernthal, an associate clinical law professor and director of the Entrepreneurship Initiative at the Silicon Flatirons Center, will interview Turner. He will focus the discussion on Turner's entrepreneurial skills and lessons from Turner's career.

"Entrepreneurs Unplugged" is a monthly interview series hosted by the Silicon Flatirons Center. The series, now in its second year, focuses on the stories of entrepreneurs in a question-and-answer format. Past guests have included Sam Zell, David Bonderman, Glenn Jones, David Cohen and Dan Caruso.
