Senior Auditors' Registration Is Jan. 20-21 For CU Spring Classes
Jan. 8, 2004
Spring semester registration will be held Jan. 20-21 for CU-Boulder's Senior Auditors Program.
Colorado residents age 55 and older are eligible to audit regular daytime classes at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Koenig Alumni Center on the southeast corner of University Avenue and Broadway.
Auditors may select from courses listed in the Spring Registration Handbook and Schedule of Courses, which is available from the University Book Center, the Registrar's office in Regent Hall or during registration at Koenig Alumni Center. The listing is also available online at http://registrar.colorado.edu.
The program, sponsored by the CU-Boulder Alumni Association and First National Bank of Colorado, allows seniors to audit classes tuition-free on a space-available basis. Regular tuition-paying students have priority over auditors. A processing fee of $5 for Alumni Association members and $40 for nonmembers is due at registration. There is no limit on the number of classes a person may audit each semester.
Age and Colorado residency are the only prerequisites to participation. The courses carry no academic credit and auditors are not required to have completed high school or attended college. By prior arrangement with the instructor, auditors may choose their level of participation with regard to exams, papers, reading assignments and finals.
The Board of Regents started the Senior Auditors Program in 1973 to increase CU-Boulder's service to Colorado citizens. More than 150 seniors registered last fall.
