September 2, 1997

An 11-member search committee has been named to seek a replacement for Wallace Loh, vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Colorado at Boulder, who leaves the campus Sept. 30.

Loh recently resigned his position to become Director of Policy for Washington State Gov. Gary Locke.

The committee, chaired by Arts and Sciences Dean Peter Spear, will begin with an internal search. If a qualified internal individual is not identified, the committee will launch a national search.

Members of the committee include:

Peter Spear, chair, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences

Chris Armijo, student administrator for the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Harold Bruff, dean of the School of Law

James Curry, professor of applied mathematics

John Daily, Boulder Faculty Assembly chair and professor of mechanical engineering

Larry Drees, Staff Council representative and director of student facilities in housing

Patricia Limerick, professor of history

David Prescott, professor of molecular, cellular and developmental biology

Steven Taniguchi, chair of the Alumni Association Board of Directors

Judith Glyde, associate professor of music

Stewart Hoover, professor of journalism and mass communication

The search committee will be staffed by Mary Jo White and Jane Branigan of the Chancellor’s Office. Shari Robertson, director of Human Resources, will serve as ex-officio member.
