CU-Boulder Business Prof Recognized For Outstanding Community Service

May 20, 1997

Investors, business leaders, corporate relocation services and Colorado farmers rely on Richard Wobbekind to give them accurate economic forecasts each December. This year, BankOne and the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Business and Administration are formally thanking him.

Wobbekind, director of the Business Research Division at the College of Business and Administration at the University of Colorado at Boulder, is the recipient of the 1997 BankOne Colorado Corporation Faculty Community Service Award.

One full-time faculty member from each CU campus who provides exceptional educational, humanitarian, civic or other service in his or her community is presented with a $2,500 award. Wobbekind will be honored by colleagues and business leaders at a reception on June 10 at the College of Business.

Wobbekind is responsible for the annual Colorado Economic Outlook forum. He relies on the expertise of more than 75 business, government and educational leaders when making employment and economic forecasts. Wobbekind presents his findings to a large public audience in Denver each December and also hosts forums around the state.
