After subscribing to CU Newscenter Podcasts,
new audio and photo-enhanced podcasts
will be delivered to your computer automatically.
You'll need free podcatching software,
such as iTunes or Doppler, to get set
up.
To set up the CU Newscenter Podcast in
iTunes (for Mac or Windows):
- Highlight and copy this link:
http://www.colorado.edu/news/podcasts/cu-bouldernews.xml
- Open iTunes
- In the "Advanced" menu (located
in the menu bar at the top of the screen),
click "Subscribe to Podcast."
- Paste
the link into the box and hit OK.
The podcast should appear in your iTunes
Podcast listing. In the iTunes preferences,
you can customize how often iTunes checks
for new podcast episodes, and how many
episodes you'd like to save on your computer
at a time.
Many CU Newscenter podcasts have been
enhanced with photos. The photos should
be viewable in the lower left corner of
the iTunes pane when the podcast is playing.
Windows users will need iTunes for Windows
or Quicktime Media Player 10 to hear and
view these files. The audio-only podcasts
are mp3 files. The photo-enhanced podcasts
are m4a files (also known as mp4). In
all cases, it is possible to just listen
to the podcast without viewing the photos
if you don't have that capability on your
computer or portable media device (such
as an iPod).
