Engineering students build, test high-mileage car

A team of 4 students from the University of Colorado Boulder Department of Engineering will see if they can squeeze 1,000 miles per gallon or more out of a car they built and entered in the 2009 Shell Oil Company Eco-Marathon.  Held at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, the event challenges high school and college students from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil and India to design, build and drive the farthest using the least amount of energy.  56 teams are entered in this year’s event.
