Vocal and Choral Degrees

The vocal and choral programs at the University of Colorado at Boulder offer a wide array of undergraduate and graduate degrees. For undergraduates, CU-Boulder offers several performance degrees as well as a degree in music education with a voice emphasis. For graduate students, several vocal studies and choral studies degrees are offered at both the Master of Music level and the Doctor of Musical Arts level as well as a Performer's Certificate for singers.

Undergraduate Degrees
CU-Boulder offers the following undergraduate degrees in vocal studies.
  • BM in Voice Performance
  • BM in Musical Theater
  • BM in Music Education with voice emphasis
  • BA in Music with voice emphasis

In addition to study in the fundamentals of vocal production, voice students are introduced to repertory in various languages. Courses in style and diction are supplemented by foreign language study. During the four years, all undergraduates in voice performance and music education receive a one-hour private lesson and a one-hour performance class each week.
