Prospective Undergraduate Students...
Interested in visiting the College of Music, shadowing a current student, sitting in on classes, rehearsals and lessons? Come visit and be a "Music Buff on Campus!"
Fred Peterbark, Assistant to the Dean for Recruitment and Outreach, would be happy to schedule you to be "A Student for a Day." College of Music Student Ambassadors are available for you to shadow Monday-Thursday with the exception of University holidays. Unfortunately, Fridays are not included in our Student for a Day program as many classes do not meet on Fridays.
Studio performance classes occur once a week. If you are able, you may want to schedule your visit on the day of your respective area's performance class (Monday - Strings & Jazz; Tuesday - Brass & Percussion; Wednesday - Voice, Composition & Keyboard; Thursday - Woodwinds)
A typical freshman student's day at the College of Music:
8:00am Music Theory
9:00am Music History
12:00pm Ensemble Rehearsal
1:30pm University Tour & Information Session (scheduled separately)
4:00pm College of Music Information Session with Fred Peterbark
7:30pm Concert/Recital (optional)
(**lessons are scheduled on an individual basis throughout the week)
