The Rocky Mountain Society for Music Theory is the regional organization affiliated with the Society for Music Theory. Annual conferences are held throughout the Rocky Mountain region, including Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona.

The 2012 regional conference took place from March 30 - 31 at the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado.

Congratulations to Kyle Jenkins (University of Arizona) who won the best graduate student paper at the 2012 conference, with his presentation "Expostional Trajectories Gone Awry: S-C Complications in Brahms's Sonata Movements."
