The College of Music maintains facilities for practice, pedagogy, performance, composition, and research using electronic music technology.

Two multi-purpose Computer Assisted Music Laboratories (CAML) are maintained in collaboration between the College of Music and CU's Information Technology Services. The 31 state-of-the-art Macintosh G5 workstations in the labs are used for a wide range of musical tasks: music notation, audio and MIDI sequencing and production, audio editing and mixing, computer music composition and research, and musicianship skills practice. All workstations also include a wide range of internet tools, Microsoft Office applications, and assorted utilities. Synthesizer keyboards (Kurzweil K2000/K2000R and Roland JV30) are integrated into the CAML workstations.

CAML I includes audio monitoring from each workstation as well as video projection from the front station, and is used as a teaching space for music technology classes. and projection facilities allowing it to be used as a teaching space for electronic music classes.

Access to the labs is available by BuffOne card swipe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact the main College of Music office to activate your card.

Computer Research using  New Compositional Hierarchies (CRuNCH) is a fully-featured computer music project studio. Two Macintosh workstations with 8-channel audio interfaces and the latest audio and video software are integrated into a digitally controlled audio system. One of the workstations is a portable system built around a G4 laptop, used for live concert production. Modern equipment is augmented by a collection of classic instruments, including a Moog modular synthesizer and a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5. ranging from classic Moog and Sequential Circuits equipment to modern Yamaha and Kurzweil keyboards are combined with production equipment for audio and video, integrated with computer workstations. The CRuNCH lab is optimized for computer music research (including live interactive performance systems), as well as audio/video editing and production.

The Class Piano Laboratory features thirteen cutting-edge digital pianos. The College also has two acoustically isolated Virtual Practice Rooms, equipped with technology allowing musicians to control the acoustic ambiance of the space.
