Andrew Stonerock (DMA Saxophone) has accepted a position as Instructor of Saxophone at Casper College, Wyoming.

Ed Breazeale (MM 2012) has accepted the positions of Lecturer of Jazz Studies at the Univeristy of Wyoming, and Lecturer of Drum Set at the University of Colorado – Denver.

Carmen Sandim (MM ’10) is Instructor of Jazz Piano at Metropolitan State University Denver.

Andy Nevala (DMA) is Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at Jacksonville State University in Alabama.

Joel Linscheid (MM ’11) is currently touring with the Glenn Miller Orchestra

Ben Markley (DMA ’10) is currently teaching jazz piano, improvisation, and vocal jazz at the University of Wyoming.

Kurtis Adams (DMA ’07) has accepted the position as Jazz Director at Shepard College, WV. He will begin his teaching duties in August of 2010.

Kevin Woods‘ (MM ’07) composition “Lament for Madeline” from his latest CD, Ballad of the West, is featured in the October 2007 edition of Jazziz Magazine and on Jazziz on Disc.

FACULTY NEWS

Brad Goode‘s CD, “NATURE BOY” (Delmark 567) was released on November 13th. The CD features Jeff Jenkins, piano; Johannes Weidenmueller, bass; Todd Reid, drums. This is Brad’s 10th commercially released leader date, and the 35th on which he appears as a soloist.

The CU Jazz Program is pleased to include Art Lande as Artist in Residence. Art will be teaching, conducting workshops and mentoring students throughout the year. We are thrilled to have this wonderful teacher and musician a member of our program!

Brad Goode has been invited to perform as principal trumpet with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (New Orleans) for several of their performances this season. In addition to the jazz work for which he has always been known, he is increasingly being requested as a first trumpeter for many groups in a variety of musical styles. In the local area, Brad can frequently be heard playing lead trumpet with; The 9th & Lincoln Orchestra, The What’s Cookin’ Big Band, Chie Imaizumi Orchestra, La Candela, Dressed In Black and others.
