Registration for the 1998 International Trombone Festival will begin at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, May 26 in the lobby of the Imig Music Building located at 18th and Euclid on the CU campus. Pre-registered participants can pick up information packets including
a program booklet at that time. The opening session is scheduled for 1:00 Tuesday in Grusin Music Hall. Daily clinics, masterclasses and concerts will be held in the music building; evening concerts will take place in Macky Auditorium Concert Hall, a sh
ort walk across campus.
Travel
Boulder Travel is the official travel agent of the 1998 International Trombone Festival. They have arranged special discounted airfares to Denver International Airport, and in conjunction with air reservations, will coordinate ground transportation betwee
n the airport and Boulder (about 40 miles) at approximately 20% off the regular shuttle fares. In order to receive these special discounts, travel arrangements must be made through Boulder Travel (800) 336-0380 or (303) 443-0380 - ask for Marti. Other
ground transportation is available including rental cars, shuttle vans ($14-18 one way) and regional bus service ($8 one way). Specific information will accompany completed registration.
Housing and Meals
Hotel: Blocks of rooms will be held at hotels adjacent to campus and can be booked at the same time flight arrangements are made with Boulder Travel. It is important to make hotel reservations early. Boulder is a popular vacation destination in the Spr
ing and hotels will fill up. Additionally, the popular Bolder Boulder, (303) 444-7223, 10K race will take place on Monday May 25.
Holiday Inn (303) 443-3322: $89.00 per night (plus tax), 1-4 people in a room, restaurant, lounge, indoor pool.
Best Western (303) 449-3800: $75.00 per night (plus tax), 1-2 people in a room, $5.00 for each additional person.
Residence Hall: Kittredge Complex has been set aside as the residence hall for the 1998 ITF. It is a short, 5 - 10 minute walk from the music building. Telephones are available in each room and the front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Bed linens, bl anket, pillow, towel, etc. are provided. Restrooms are located on each wing.
Important: Residence hall housing will be available as a package rate only. No daily rate is available. This is a change from previous festivals. Additionally, the weekly fee will include breakfast, Wed.- Sun. only. No lunch or dinner will be available in the residence hall, but many restaurants and fast food establishments are within easy walking distance of the campus. Payment for residence hall housing is due at check-in only. Do not send money for residence hall housing in advance. Walk -in residence hall housing will be obtainable on a space-available basis.
