David Pinkow, horn professor, He has performed frequently with the Colorado Festival Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony since joining the CU music faculty in 1980.  Prior experience as an orchestral musician includes full-time positions with both the Pittsburgh and Atlanta Symphonies.  An active soloist, he has performed concertos with the Rochester Philharmonic, the Augusta Symphony, and the Casper Symphony.  Engagements with the American Chamber Players have included performances in Tulsa, San Juan, and at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., where Robert Evett of the Washington Star referred to Pinkow’s “radiant conception” of the Mozart Quintet.  David Pinkow has appeared on recitals at meetings of the International Horn Society, at the Mid-West Horn workshop, and at the Western Horn Workshop in Las Vegas.  He has presented masterclasses at the Rafael Mendez Brass Symposium and may be heard on the Summit Brass Live recording produced with that legendary ensemble.  Dr. Pinkow received his BM and Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, a MM from Carnegie-Mellon University and a DMA from the University of Maryland.
