Rebecca Maloy

Rebecca Maloy, Assistant Professor of Musicology, specializes in early Medieval music. Her research has focused on the relationship between Gregorian and Old Roman chant, Medieval music theory, and the interaction
between theory and practice. She holds a B.M. from the University of Illinois and graduate degrees in musicology and flute performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her 2001 dissertation received an Alvin H. Johnson AMS-50 Fellowship from the American Musicological Society. Her publications include essays in Journal of Musicology, Studia Musicologica, the forthcoming collection The Sequences of Nidaros: A Nordic Repertory in Its European Context, and a facsimile and commentary on a 12th-century theoretical manuscript. She is currently completing a companion book and edition, Inside the Offertory: Aspects of Chronology and Transmission, under contract with Oxford University Press.
