"A Penny for Your Thoughts"

(Part 4 of the ECM  “Fabulous Five” Seminar Series)

Workshop that will focus on money management, taxes and negotiating as related to musicians. Topics include formulating a short, medium and long-range financial plan, tax implications and schedule C's, hiring other musicians, and negotiating fees. The goal is to have a basic set of skills to accomplish these tasks for a medium range plan and commit it to paper by the end of the session.

Free Seminar for:
Any audio professional and enthusiast with a basic understanding of microphones. The technical seminar will be interesting to the accomplished professional with many years of experience. There will be emphasis on new developments in design and applications of traditional and new microphones.
However, a novice microphone user, for example a musician or artist with less technical background, will experience an interesting approach to applications and will gain a deeper understanding of the vast resources for high quality audio recordings available today.

Get Educated on Educational and Outreach Programs

with the Cavani String Quartet!

Nationally recognized as pioneers in arts-in-education, the Cavani Quartet is sought after by universities and communities for their ability to cultivate community partnerships. The quartet has developed creative outreach programs for a wide variety of settings and for audiences of all ages including a series of children's concerts for The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Experience a Cavani children's program with almost 400 4th graders in Grusin. After the children have left, join the quartet for a workshop on creating programs for education and profit.
