College of Music

University of Colorado Boulder

Programs: Choral | Orchestral | Wind/Bands

Welcome to Conducting at the University of Colorado Boulder! We welcome graduate students to join our program and study conducting with our acclaimed conducting faculty. Conducting students in the MM and DMA degree programs may concentrate in the choral, orchestral or wind/band areas. Major work in the conducting degrees includes advanced conducting, analytical studies, score reading, orchestration, arranging, performance-related writing and conducting practica.

In addition, our conducting faculty lead College of Music students in numerous outstanding ensembles and chamber groups. Recitals and concerts by the college’s performing organizations, faculty, guest artists and students provide the university community and Boulder area with some of the finest music being performed today.

For more information on group performance opportunities, please visit the ensembles page or read more about our different ensembles below.

We are no longer accepting applications for the Orchestral Conducting program for 2016. We will begin accepting applications again in Fall 2017.
