Celebrating 100 years hosting the best performing arts, lectures and entertainment events, Macky Auditorium is one of the most valuable and recognizable historical spaces on the CU Boulder Campus and a premiere venue in the Front Range. This short historical documentary made in celebration of Macky Auditorium’s 100th Anniversary was created thanks to the hard work of Executive Producer Tony Moores, Producer/Director Bud Leonard, writer Silvia Pettem and contributor Alan Cass.

Associate Professor of Piano David Korevaar performs two of Liszt’s Swiss pieces: Eglogue and Mal du pays. The first is an evocation of spring (a nice relief after the Vallée d’Obermann); the second, based on a Ranz des vaches that Liszt evidently liked well enough to recycle many years later in his famous Nuages Gris, is filled with nostalgia and longing. Recorded live at the University of Colorado, January 26, 2010.
