The Arundo Winds, comprised of five musicians from three different countries, are the graduate woodwind quintet in residence at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This energetic ensemble strives to present diverse, interesting programs featuring a variety of repertoire from around the world. Their performances have brought them to an array of venues throughout Colorado and beyond. In addition to their regular recitals at Grusin Hall at The University of Colorado at Boulder, the Arundo Winds have performed in the Grand County Concert Series, at Harris Hall in Aspen, and at the Francisco de Miranda music school in Guarenas, Venezuela. They have also participated in master classes with eighth blackbird, Carol Wincenc, and Gro Sandvik.

The Arundo Winds have recently earned national recognition at two prestigious competitions. In 2007, they won first prize at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, Missouri. The previous year, they took home a silver medal from the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, Indiana. With their ambitious programming and captivating stage presence, the Arundo Winds have also cultivated an ever-growing local following. They have attracted the attention of numerous composers and are working on commissions from Bill Douglas and Carter Pann.

Education has always been a top priority for the Arundo Winds. They have conducted numerous educational programs geared toward educating the public in classical music as well as inspiring young music students to achieve a higher level of understanding and ability. Each year, the Arundo Winds take part in two week-long residencies with the Aspen Music Festival and School, working with public schools throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. They also conduct day-long band camps and school visitations in the greater Denver area. Their biggest educational program yet was their November 2006 tour to Venezuela, where they worked with students enrolled in the FESNOJIV (government-sponsored youth orchestra) program.
