The College of Music welcomes applications from students wishing to transfer to CU-Boulder from a college or university outside of the University of Colorado Boulder.
Transfer applicants must pass an audition and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. For information about applying and auditioning, please visit our Application Process page.
The College of Music deadline for Spring admission is October 1. Voice and non-Colorado resident Flute applicants must also complete the prescreening requirement by this date (see Auditions). Please note that the Jazz department does not admit Spring applicants.
College of Music deadlines for Fall admission are:
- December 1 – Jazz Guitar, Voice, and non-Colorado resident Flute (prescreening required). Priority deadline for all other areas.
- February 1 – Application deadline for scholarship consideration (must complete audition in February).
- April 1 – Final deadline for transfer admission. All requirements (including the audition) must be completed by this date.
NOTE: Although the final application deadline for transfer students is April 1, we recommend that you apply by December 1 to guarantee your audition at one of our Saturday audition dates in February. Most scholarships are awarded to students who audition in February.
If you are receiving a music scholarship from your current institution you must submit a Scholarship Release Form before you may be considered for any music scholarships at CU-Boulder. Students who audition will automatically be considered for our merit-based music scholarships.
