    Welcome to the Saxophone Studio!

Welcome to the CU saxophone studio. With both undergraduate and graduate students, we explore a wide variety of style in composition and improvisation. Our hope is to prepare students to perform and teach at the highest levels. During our weekly studio class, which is often the students favorite hour of the week, we provide an opportunity for students to perform, host guest artists, present lectures on a huge variety of topics and occasionally form a large saxophone ensemble.

At some time during their years here, most students in the studio play each of the saxophones in a variety of ensembles such as concert bands, jazz ensembles, saxophone quartets, jazz combos and other specialty ensembles. Our saxophone ensemble and quartets have performed at the World Saxophone Congress in Spain, Italy and Minneapolis, and virtually all recent North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial and Region II Symposia.
