Field courses at the Mountain Research Station are very popular and have low enrollments to maximize student/instructor interaction.  A waiting list will be generated if the course fills and students will be placed based on the date of their reservation if a cancellation occurs.  If the course is full you will be informed to contact enrollment services during the on-line registration process to be added to the waiting list.

The Office of Continuing Education manages registration and course credit.  Final registration for course credit will take place on the first day of class. Credits are the same as other courses from the University of Colorado and tuition is the same for Colorado residents and nonresidents. Course credit is readily transferable to other institutions and meets the field course requirements for CU's Environmental Studies program. 


Reservations and payment for courses offered at the Mountain Research Station are made online through CU Conference Services.  Payment may be made with credit card, or with a personal check (made out to the University of Colorado). 2018 Rates TBD

Course reservations are not secured until a deposit is received.  

PLEASE NOTE:  GI Bill or other financial aid students are not required to submit a deposit for course reservation.  Please call 303-492-5151 or email to receive special instructions for registering on-line.

  • All 2017/2018 course registration is currently closed.  Registration for 2018 Winter Ecology will be active in Oct/Nov 2017.


Course reservations must be cancelled by April 14, 2018 (December 16, 2017 for Winter Ecology) to receive an 80% reimbursement of your deposit.  Deposits will not be refunded after the deadline. Deposits will be refunded in full if a course is cancelled. Please check course enrollments before buying non-refundable airline tickets.
