This general fund is used by the chair to support the most critical needs in the department on an on-going basis. Your gift will fund the department’s priorities which include the hiring and retention of world-class faculty, purchase of equipment used for teaching and cutting-edge research, expansion and modernization of facilities used by students and faculty, and the recruitment of the best and brightest students. Gifts made to this fund are immediate so that the department can take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

Competition among universities is tight and your gift will enable us to offer a better package to top graduate candidates who are interested in working with our world-renowned faculty to further our knowledge in the many fields of research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
