Mechanical Engineering Research Thrusts

Our research efforts are broadly organized in three modern technological thrusts:

Biomechanical Engineering

Biomechanical engineering research largely builds on strength in cardiovascular bioengineering and includes: imaging, instrumentation and device design, bio/fluid mechanics and diagnostics, microsystems, and nano-scale biomaterials.

Energy and Environmental Engineering

Research involves the application of fluid and thermal sciences expertise (experimental, theoretical, and modeling) to modern problems in energy applications and air-quality engineering.

Micro/Nanoscale Engineering

Research involves micro- and nano-electromechanical systems , atomic, nano, and micro fabrication technologies, advanced packaging, and the  nano and microscale characterization, simulation, and design of materials.
