Where Are Our Graduates?
Our mechanical engineering Masters degree program stresses fundamental concepts and techniques that prepare graduates for employment primarily in industry, where they take on technical engineering responsibilities dealing with product or process design and development. Some subsequently move on to management, sales, and support services. The research emphasis of the PhD program prepares students for employment in universities and colleges, in government laboratories and industry, where they can take a leadership role in the development of new knowledge, concepts, products and processes. Those interested in improving their oral and written presentation skills, as well as those interested in academic careers can participate in the Graduate Teachers Program. Local industry and government laboratories employ a few of our graduate students. They design educational programs to enhance skills and knowledge most useful to the employer.
