Assistant Professor Design and Manufacturing
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a fulltime tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in design and manufacturing; exceptionally wellqualified candidates with outstanding credentials may be considered for appointment at a higher academic level. Candidates are expected to complement and strengthen existing departmental research in the areas of micro-/nanosystems engineering, energy and environmental engineering, materials, or biomechanical/biomaterials engineering. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related field with a strong background in research.

Successful candidates must have a strong commitment to scholarship, the development of an externally funded research program, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in mechanical engineering. Post-doctoral or similar professional experience is highly desirable but not required.

Non Tenure Track Opportunities:

Instructor
The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a full-time Instructor position. This position will support the Department of Mechanical Engineering and fulfillment of the department's educational mission.

The position involves teaching three engineering courses per semester on the CU-Boulder campus beginning in the Fall semester of 2013. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related field, and must demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate engineering education and active engagement in the mechanical engineering field. An interest in improving undergraduate engineering education is desirable. Industrial and teaching experience is preferred.

This is a non-tenure track appointment; the successful candidate will likely be appointed as an Instructor on the Mechanical Engineering faculty although appointment as a Senior Instructor is possible depending on experience and qualifications. The position will report to the Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
