Thank you for your interest in the graduate program in Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder.

We offer a PhD and Masters of Arts degrees as well as a Masters of Sciences degrees in Applied Mathematics.

We have a diversified graduate faculty with current areas of research interests in algebra, classical analysis, differential equations, harmonic analysis, logic and foundations, number theory, probability, geometry, and topology.

The Department has approximately 50 teaching assistant positions available annually. The stipend for a TAship for the 2012-2013 year is $16,373.95 and annual increases are expected. TAships carry a tuition waiver and provide $1100 a semester of your university insurance plan (the balance is paid by the student). TA positions are awarded based on your previous academic achievements and future academic promise. Towards that end we require three letters of recommendation from accredited mathematicians, one transcript of previous postsecondary education as well as General and Math Subject GRE scores.

We hope our program fits your needs and that we will be hearing from you.

We have rolling admissions until all slots are filled, but we only guarantee full consideration of applications that meet the following deadlines:

Important Deadlines:

Fall

  • International Application Deadline, December 16
  • Domestic Application Deadline, January 2
  • Supporting Documents Accepted until January 10

It is preferred that transcripts be mailed to the Admissions Department, 553 UCB,  Attn: Regan Slater, University of Colorado Boulder, Boulder, CO 80309. Once applications are submitted, emails are sent to your recommenders and they submit the letters of recommendation online.
