Application Information

Thank you for your interest in the graduate program in Mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder.

We offer a PhD and Masters of Arts degrees as well as a Masters of Sciences degrees in Applied Mathematics.

We have a diversified graduate faculty with current areas of research interests in algebra, classical analysis, differential equations, harmonic analysis, logic and foundations, number theory, probability, geometry, and topology.

The Department has approximately 58 teaching assistant positions available annually. The stipend for a TAship for the 2015-2016 year is $17,909.63 and annual increases are expected. TAships carry a tuition waiver for 9-18 credit hours and provide $1675 a semester of your university insurance plan (the balance is paid by the student). TA positions are awarded based on your previous academic achievements and future academic promise. Towards that end we require three letters of recommendation from accredited mathematicians, unofficial transcripts from each of your previous postsecondary education institutions as well as General and Math Subject GRE scores.

For review and decision purposes you are required to upload an unofficial copy of your transcript(s) in the online application. We require one copy of the scanned transcript from each undergraduate and graduate institution that you attended. This includes community colleges, summer sessions, and extension programs. While credits from one institution may appear on the transcript of a second institution, unofficial transcripts must be submitted from each institution, regardless of the length of attendance, and whether or not courses were completed.  Failure to list and submit transcripts from all institutions previously attended is considered to be a violation of academic ethics and may result in the cancellation of your admission or dismissal from the university.

ONLY after you are recommended for admission will you need to provide official transcripts.
