Ekeley Science Building (1896, 1925, 1950, 1975)

"Old Chemistry" was a red brick structure dating from 1896. Charles Klauder added east and west wings in 1925. A south wing was added in 1950, and in 1975, the original center part was demolished and replaced.

The building honors John B. Ekeley (1869–1951), head of the chemistry department for 35 years. His World War I research developed purification processes for Colorado tungsten ores needed for the war effort.
