About TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
English
is the most widely learned second
language in the world. Many
children, youth and adults worldwide
are required to learn at least some English,
and a working knowledge of English is
required in many fields and occupations.
The demand for teachers with professional ESL/EFL
(English as a Second Language/English
as a Foreign Language) training is already
large and still growing.
The Department of Linguistics is pleased to offer the MA in Linguistics with a specialization for TESOL professionals. Combined with a strong linguistics core, the specialization in TESOL provides a cohesive, professionally oriented program that includes site-based experiences. These components combine to prepare graduates to engage in dynamic and diverse areas of English language teaching. |
