WEATHER & WHAT CLOTHING
TO PACK
Boulder weather in the middle of May can vary drastically
from day to day. While pleasant spring conditions generally prevail
with sunny skies and temperatures around 60 degrees Fahrenheit (16
degrees Celsius), extremes in both directions are possible. Snow and
a cold spell could result in the need for a warm coat, while summer
like heat may inspire one to wear shorts and sandals. In Colorado
there is a saying: If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes.
Be sure to bring sensible shoes for walking outdoors
or hiking on the mountain trails. Time and weather permitting, we
hope to provide an organized opportunity for participants to explore
the beauty of Colorado first hand.
SPECIAL EXCURSION TO ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
On Saturday, May 17 (the last day of the conference),
we will be offering a trip to Rocky
Mountain National Park for all conference participants. This will
be an opportunity to see the splendor of the Rockies up close! Walking
and hiking opportunities, from short, leisurely strolls around the
visitor's center to more strenuous mountain trails are available inside
the park. A bus will leave Boulder in the morning and return in the
afternoon. The cost to take part in the excursion is $15 per person,
which includes transportation and park entrance fees. If you would
like to sign up, please send us an e-mail
so that we can reserve a spot for you.
