The Theme Session for this year will feature papers that focus on Interdisciplinarity in Sociocultural Linguistics. Papers for consideration in the Theme Session may address issues dealing with crossing (inter)disciplinary boundaries in both theoretical and applied research. For both Sessions, we encourage papers that focus on the broad connections between language, culture and society and are grounded in empirical research or discuss an original theoretical issue.
About the Conference:
The CLASP conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum for students and faculty to present empirical and theoretical research on the sociocultural analysis of language. It is organized by students in the grad certificate program for Culture, Language, and Social Practice (CLASP) at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
The CLASP Conference is made possible by generous sponsorship from University of Colorado's Center to Advance Research and Teaching in the Social Sciences (CARTSS), Council for Research and Creative Work (CRCW), the BUENO Center for Multicultural Education, Department of Linguistics, Department of Communication, Department of Anthropology, and Program in Women and Gender Studies.
