Submission Procedure | Editors

  • Manuscripts should be submitted via e-mail attachment or as a hard copy to one of the editors.
  • Word processor (with embedded images) or Acrobat pdf files are both acceptable. If we cannot read it, we will get back to you.
  • Title page should include the best e-mail address by which to reach you (the primary author) as well as the lab or class in which the work was done.
  • Submitted images should be of a resolution of less that 150 dpi and no larger than 5 inches wide. We prefer JPEG format images.
  • We will strive to return reviews of the work (so that you can get a real experience of the scientific publication process) within two to three weeks of receiving your manuscript. If you do not hear from us - bug us.
  • Once you have received your reviews, it is your responsibility to make the necessary changes or explain to us why such changes are unnecessary. You explanation should be in a formal cover letter.
  • Once we have received your revised manuscript, you should have a final response from us within one week.
  • Your manuscript will be posted on the CU-LIFESCIENCES web site and will be available as a downloadable pdf file. So if you are planning to patent your work, make sure you take proper precautions to protect your intellectual property -- you can check with the CU Office of Technology Transfer as to the proper procedure.
