The Center for Inclusion & Social Change (the Center) has been established to support undergraduate and graduate students across multiple identities, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, QTBIPOC students, women and femme students and first-generation students. Students will find a welcoming and inclusive gathering space at The Center for Inclusion and Social Change, and a place to find community, resources and support for academic, personal and professional growth.

At the Center, students are encouraged to explore the multiple aspects and intersections of their identity through development and engagement programs, educational opportunities and community building events. We are here to help students engage in the process of understanding their identities as members of various social groups. We leverage the strengths of our students’ identities, build community with others who experience similar identities and encourage collective efforts to enact social change.

We advocate for, and with, historically marginalized communities to advance a more equitable university and society. In addition to being a resource for undergraduate and graduate students, we are here to support faculty, staff, instructors, teaching assistants and advisors in their efforts to better support students. Through our extensive shared knowledge and experiences, we provide consulting for creating spaces and classrooms that are more diverse, inclusive and welcoming.

There are many ways to be involved with the Center throughout the year—apply for a workshop, attend an event or conference and visit us on the third floor of the C4C to hang out or find a place to study. We are committed to increasing the knowledge and appreciation of diverse communities, strengthening intercultural understanding and having productive and meaningful conversations. We are excited to meet you!
