Sherman Miller is the Executive Director of the University of the Colorado Real Estate Center (CUREC). He was formerly the Executive Managing Director for Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). During his tenure at C&W, his responsibilities included overseeing the Brokerage, Property Management and Appraisal Professionals in Denver, Phoenix, Seattle, Bellevue, and Portland. He was also the relationship manager for C&W Alliance Partners in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 1995 he was the Senior Vice President/Senior Managing Officer for CB Commercial (now CB Richard Ellis) in Denver. Before going into management, his expertise was industrial building sales and leasing. During his eight year sales career, he completed over 3,000,000 square feet of transactions. Mr. Miller received C&W’s “National Branch Manager of the Year” award in 2000.
In 2006 he received “The Broker of the Year” award from the Denver Metro Commercial Board of Realtors and The Denver Business Journal. The University of Denver in 2008 recognized Mr. Miller with an Honorary Dean designation for the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management. NAIOP of Colorado recognized Mr. Miller in 2012 with their Lifetime Achievement Award in Brokerage.
He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction in Sociology and Economics. He is a past chair of the Board of Directors of The Metro Denver Sports Commission, and a past President of the NAIOP Colorado Chapter. Mr. Miller served as the chair of CUREC for 2010-11.
He is married to CU alumna Mary Sullivan and they have two children: Buzz, age 20, a sophomore at CU, and Ralsey, age 15.
