Biography

Mattias Nilsson is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Leeds School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance and an M.S. in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics. He previously served on the faculty at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and has been a Research Fellow at the Institute for Financial Research (SIFR) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Professor Nilsson’s research interests lie within the field of corporate finance. In particular, corporate governance, labor and finance, capital structure, security issuance choice, and the effect of financial market integration in Europe on firms. His research is regularly presented at academic conferences and has been published in leading finance journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.

Professor Nilsson teaches in the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. He currently teaches courses in international financial management and empirical methods in corporate finance.
