Katherine M. Sauer, Ph.D. is the Financial Education Program Director at the University of Colorado.  She coordinates and supports personal financial literacy programming and resources for employees and retirees of the University’s four campuses and system administration office. Dr. Sauer frequently teaches K-12 teacher economic and financial literacy professional development and continuing education workshops and courses for the Colorado Council for Economic Education. She is the former Co-Director of the Center for Economic Education at MSU Denver. She has consulted for the US Department of Commerce in the Industry Trade Policy division in Washington, D.C. and has held faculty positions at the University of Southern Indiana and MSU Denver.  Dr. Sauer’s research interests include economic and financial literacy and topics that lie at the intersection of international trade and public economics. She earned her doctorate in economics in 2006 from the University of Colorado - Boulder.
