Karen Frame became an entrepreneur in the early 1990s when she moved to Boulder, Colorado, and ended up developing two interactive touchscreen kiosk systems, one for the real estate industry and one for the natural products industry. She is currently CEO of makeena, a mobile and web-based data analytics company that plays in the natural products sector. She also provides in-house counsel services to several technology-based companies. Karen earned her degree in accounting and business from Indiana University, graduating with highest honors, and a CPA and law degree from the University of Illinois. She also attended Oxford University, focusing on international business transactions, and is currently teaching the Principles of Business for Entrepreneurs course in the Cross Campus Entrepreneurship Certificate Program. Formerly, Karen taught business law at the University of Illinois College of Commerce.
