Photocopying

Photocopy machines

There are photocopy machines located in the copy rooms just to the south of the stairs on each floor of the library.

All copiers accept both cash and copy cards. The copiers are equipped to take coins and single dollar bills as well as fives, tens and twenties.

Copy cards can be purchased from the copy card dispenser in the second floor copy room using a single dollar bill. You can add value to the card using the dispenser after the card has been purchased. Remember, you must first use a single dollar bill to purchase the card.

Copies made using a copy card cost 10 cents each. Copies cost 15 cents each when made using cash.

Reporting photocopy machine problems

If photocopiers are out of paper, toner or there is a paper jam, please let the person at the Circulation or Reference desk know what the problem is; be specific as to which copier has the problem.

If the copier is not accepting money, money was lost in a machine, the copy card is reading an incorrect value, or money was lost in the card reader, please report the problem at the Circulation or Reference desk.

Refunds

REFUNDS may be obtained Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 at the UMC Ink Spot. Money is refunded directly to copy cards only.

COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purposes other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
