Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law

With the help of Professor Phil Weiser, a group of students founded the Journal on Telecommunications & High Technology Law (JTHTL) at the University of Colorado School of Law in 2001. The Berkeley Electronic Press now ranks the JTHTL fifth among journals publishing articles on intellectual property. In 2005, the JTHTL also ranked sixth amongst communications law journals and 17th among all technology law journals. In other words, despite its youth, the JTHTL occupies a solid position among elite niche legal journals.

Most attribute the rapid ascendance of the JTHTL to interdisciplinary articles by prominent scholars and industry leaders. Past and present authors include Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael K. Powell, Stanford Law Professor Lawrence Lessig, and Robert Kahn, who, along with Vint Cerf, invented the Internet. The Journal derives the bulk of its articles through the Silicon Flatirons Program, and an annual symposium dedicated to discussing the relevant, pressing issues of the day.
