Legislation calls on EESI to build a comprehensive energy profile

On May 23, 2007, Governor Bill Ritter signed into law House Bill 1203, entitled “Energy Management and Conservation Studies.”

Introduced by Representative Randy Fischer and Senator Chris Romer, the bill calls on CEES to create a Colorado Energy Profile that will provide “up-to-date and comprehensive statistics, data, and policy-neutral analysis concerning Colorado's current and projected future energy resources.”

Commenting on HB 1203 and other related energy bills, Governor Ritter remarked:  “These bills are important building blocks as we continue to establish Colorado as a national leader in renewable energy."

Present at the signing ceremony were Dean David Getches; Assistant Dean Lorenzo Trujillo; Dr. Lakshman Guruswamy, CEES Director; Kevin Doran, CEES Senior Research Fellow, and Katherine Peters, CEES Research Associate.
