About Cactus:

Cactus Woodworth-Lies was born on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and went on to live in Arizona, Kansas, Texas and now Colorado. Cactus, for many years, envisioned herself living in The Centennial State, and at last her vision has become a reality. She, along with her husband and son, moved to Boulder in the Summer of 2006. It has always been a goal of hers to work at a University in some capacity, and that goal has recently been realized. As of January 2008, Cactus is the Office Administrator for the Center for Energy and Environmental Security (CEES) housed in the School of Law at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her former occupational repertoire includes the inventory of a private wine collection, serving as the Assistant Art Curator and Administrative Assistant in a private Art Collection, substitute teaching, instructing “kid yoga” classes, selling surf and skate boards, and stocking vegetables at a natural foods store—to name a few. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, camping, dancing, singing, playing the guitar, painting, spending time with her family, and playing Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga on the family’s PlayStation III. She is delighted to have joined the CEES team and is inspired by the faculty, staff, and students who surround her, with their forward thinking, bright ideas, and focus on global sustainable energy solutions.
