Projects
Constitution Day with Colorado Law
On September 16, the Byron White Center is launching the Colorado Law Constitution Day Project, sending law students, professors and alumni to high schools around the state to teach classes on the Constitution.
The Colorado Law Constitution Day Project this year will offer two lesson options: the first on Constitutional responsibility and the second on the First Amendment in the classroom.
Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project
The Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project provides upper-level law students with the opportunity to teach the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to public school students in area high schools. The Project was founded at American University Law School in 1999 and has since expanded to law schools all over the country.
Colorado Law students interested in serving as Marshall-Brennan Fellows must apply to join the class. The Marshall-Brennan Fellows will be assigned to public schools in teams of two or three, and will lead high school students through highlights of thirty-nine of the most important Supreme Court cases affecting the rights and responsibilities of students.
Visiting Scholars
The White Center is always interested in bringing visiting constitutional scholars to the University of Colorado Law School for as little as a week and up to semester or year long appointments. Please contact Professor Melissa Hart at Melissa.Hart@colorado.edu if you are interested in visiting Colorado Law.
Byron White Award
Annually, the Center presents the Byron White Awards for high quality scholarship in constitutional law. Each year, one award each is given to a University of Colorado faculty member and a student whose writing offers a significant contribution to the public discussion of our constitutional system.
