The Stevens Lecture
Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens will visit Colorado Law on September 22, 2011. He will deliver the inaugural John Paul Stevens Lecture at 5 p.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom, with a reception to follow in Boettcher Hall. The Annual Stevens Lecture will bring a distinguished judge to the University of Colorado Law School each year to deliver a public lecture on judging and the state of the judiciary.
Supreme Court Preview
On October 5, 2011 the White Center will present “October Term 2011: A Preview of the Supreme Court’s Year to Come,” featuring Colorado Law Professors Melissa Hart and Harry Surden, and University of Denver Law Professors Alan Chen and Sam Kamin.
Rothgerber Conference
The Ira C. Rothgerber, Jr. Conference on Constitutional Law is held annually to bring scholars from around the country to Colorado for a discussion on a current constitutional topic. On November 4-5, 2011, participants in the 19th Annual Rothgerber Conference will speak about “Toward a Constitutional Right of Access to Justice: Implications and Implementation.”
This year’s Conference will explore the many facets of access to justice, with panelists discussing recent Supreme Court decisions on the civil right to counsel and taxpayer standing; the role of law school clinics, pro bono work and cause lawyering in providing access; and the crisis in funding and other barriers to operationalizing access.

Keller Center Conference
The Keller Center for the Study of First Amendment is part of the Political Science Department of the University of Colorado, Boulder. Mr. Leroy Keller, Vice President and general manger of UPI’s International Service and a CU graduate, endowed the Center in 1993. The Center supports and encourages teaching, research and public service on topics and issues relating to the nature, meaning, and contemporary standing of First Amendment rights and liberties.
On April 13-14, 2012, the White Center and the Keller Center will jointly present the Keller Center Conference. More details on the conference will be forthcoming.
