Research Centers
Colorado Law’s centers have earned national prominence for their research, publications, and leading conferences that debate legal and policy issues, foster practical solutions and innovative ideas, facilitate networking, and produce scholarship. Students are an integral part of the centers, working as volunteers, externs, and research assistants on projects, reports, newsletters, and events. In addition, students have unique access to renowned policymakers, researchers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and legal practitioners in many areas of the law.
- Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law enhances the study and teaching of constitutional law and stimulates public debate and understanding of our constitutional system.
- Center for Energy & Environmental Security (CEES) is an interdisciplinary research and policy center that facilitates progress toward a global sustainable energy future through the innovative use of laws, policies, and technology solutions. The program enables teaching and research into the impact of laws and policies on the scientific, engineering, sociopolitical, and commercial dimensions of sustainable energy.
- Natural Resources Law Center (NRLC) works to improve the governance and management of western natural resources by informing and influencing legal and policy decisions.
- Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (SFC) creates an environment for analyzing the continually changing dynamics in the telecommunications industry and regulatory environment and prepares students for leadership.

- Environmental, Energy, and Natural Resources Law is one of the oldest, strongest, and deepest programs available in the nation and provides students with a comprehensive legal education to prepare them to serve as experts in the field, including a broad curriculum, expert faculty, experiential learning, and co- and extra-curricular activities.
- Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Intellectual Property Law is one of the nation’s most comprehensive legal programs oriented around information technology with a robust curriculum, expansive co-curricular opportunities, and career success.
- American Indian Law Program provides students with comprehensive opportunities to acquire specialized knowledge in American Indian law--through curriculum, Clinic, Certificate Program, National Tribal Court Law Clerks Program, externships, Students Association, conferences and events, and more.
- Juvenile and Family Law Program provides students with opportunities to acquire specialized knowledge in juvenile and family law, engage in interdisciplinary work in the study and practice of juvenile and family law, and network and collaborate with students, academics, and practitioners.
