Why Colorado Law?

Reputation for Excellence

Will you be prepared to pass the bar after graduation? Colorado Law prepares you to pass any state bar exam. Our graduates boast a 94% passage rate for July first-time Colorado bar takers.
How does tuition compare to other state schools? Colorado Law costs Colorado residents less than other peer schools; see the comparison.

  • “Not only is the school in a brand new building and highly ranked, but it’s a great price too.” –Sarah Lamborne ’10
  • “I chose Colorado Law because of the low prices, but the course topics and extra curriculum opportunities available are endless.” –Brittany Radic ’11

Beautiful Boulder

Is quality of life important to you? Boulder is the perfect package: beauty, sunny weather, outdoor activities, culture, and a highly educated population.

  • “In 15 minutes drive from the school, you can find just about any outdoor sport you want to play. I really like Boulder.” –Dave Tarasi ’10
  • “Boulder is not only beautiful and great for outdoor activities, but the performing arts in Boulder and Denver are amazing.” –Shandea Williams ’12

Experiential Learning

Will practical work experience give you a competitive edge? You can apply your academic knowledge and serve the community through Colorado Law’s Experiential Leaning Program, which includes clinics, the public service pledge, externships, and appellate and trial competitions.

  • “The Criminal Clinic allowed me to manage 3 cases and appear in the courtroom for an actual jury trial and 3 motions hearings as a 2L. That’s more judicial face-time than the stereotypical junior associate!” –Edwin Winstead ’11

Supportive Community

Do you want a collegial, supportive community? Colorado Law students eagerly help each other, professors mentor students, and we host networking opportunities with the legal community. With a low faculty-to-student ratio (11.5–1), small classes allow for in-depth discussions. In addition, 2Ls and 3Ls tutor 1Ls through the Rothgerber Academic Assistance Program. See who makes up the entering class in the Dean’s Welcome Letter.

  • “People here are competitive, but not with each other. When you tell someone you’re going to a job interview, they always wish you good luck in getting the job.” –Dave Tarasi ’12
  • “Everyone is very helpful. If you miss a day of class, five people will send you notes before you even ask. People notice when you’re not there.” –Ashley Shannon ’12
  • “I’m continuously amazed by the quality of my peers. There are so many amazing debates that spring up in class and continue in the halls, and many of them are started by students.” –Shannon Rollert ’11

Accessible Faculty

Will you have opportunities to collaborate with faculty? Colorado Law faculty are experts in their field, and are dedicated, committed, and approachable. They can guide you through the program, provide opportunities to assist with research projects, and act as career advisors.

  • “The faculty have a lot of industry experience, which is great in the classroom. This experience, combined with their knowledge and accessibility, makes for a truly enjoyable class experience.” -- Alicia Hergert ’10
  • “I think the faculty is incredible. My property professor not only helped make the study of property law interesting, she talked with me about career opportunities and gave me a letter of recommendation.” –Darren Jankord ’12
