Wolf Law Building: Building Facts

The Wolf Law Building is one of the most technologically advanced law schools in the country, providing our students with the best learning environment possible.

  • At 180,000 square feet (5 stories), the Wolf Law Building has ample space to allow Colorado Law to grow, recruit top faculty, and hold large events and promote our nationally recognized law centers, clinics, and journals.
  • Our state-of-the-art classrooms include wireless networking, video conferencing capabilities for distance-learning, and complete audio-visual equipment. Classrooms range in size from 20 to 100 seats, and all classrooms feature natural lighting and accessible seating for students with disabilities.
  • The Wolf Law Building houses two high-tech courtrooms with leading-edge videotaping and distance-learning capabilities. The Wittemyer Courtroom is a venue for symposia, class meetings, conferences, ceremonial events, and other large gatherings. The Law School hosts actual sessions of state, federal, and tribal appellate courts. The Carrigan Teaching Courtroom is used for classes, moot court competitions, and litigation training.
  • Colorado Law’s William A. Wise Law Library is the most comprehensive and technologically advanced in the 12-state Rocky Mountain region. At 59,000 square feet, it includes computer labs and learning areas throughout the library. Our library is also the regional archive for the United States government (making it the most complete law library in Colorado).
  • In keeping with an outstanding national reputation for environmental law, the Wolf Law Building was constructed to the exacting standards of the U.S. Green Building Council’s “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” (LEED) building certification.
  • Colorado Law offers Internet-based video recording stations and interview rooms, and digital information kiosks throughout the building.
  • In 2010, 52 rooftop solar panels and an electrical car charging station were installed. The solar panels provide Colorado Law with up to 11.96 kilowatts of energy per hour (online monitoring). The charging station can handle both 110 and 220-volt plug-ins. The station is a “smart system,” meaning that electric car drivers can see when it is available and receive text messages when their car is finished charging. Read more…
